Significant progress has been made in the much-watched project of "diverting from the Yangtze River to the Huai River. Reporters from Xin'an Evening News and Anhui Net learned from the Provincial Water Resources Department that the feasibility study report of the Yangtze River to Huaihe River Diversion Project has successfully passed the review of the Ministry of Water Resources. The project also needs to be approved by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and then it can officially start construction. According to the person in charge of the relevant department, according to the current approval progress, the relevant state departments are expected to complete all approval procedures within half a year.

This year is a key year for the advancement of the project of diverting the Yangtze River to the Huaihe River. According to reports, the State Council officially approved the project in March this year. In September, the waterway conditions and navigation safety impact assessment of the cross-river buildings of the Yangtze River to Huaihe River diversion project were officially approved by the Ministry of Transport, and recently passed the pre-trial review of the construction project land of the Ministry of Land and Resources, which provided the basis and guarantee for the examination and approval of the feasibility study report of the project.

According to the requirements of the Feasibility Study Report of the Yangtze River Diversion to Huaihe River Project (Navigation Part), the Caizi Lake water transmission line will be used to replace the Zhaoxi River navigation channel. River-to-Nest Section and Jianghuai Communication Section shall be constructed according to Class III and Class II waterway standards respectively.

According to the person in charge of the relevant department, on November 3, the feasibility study report of diverting the Yangtze River to Huaihe River was reviewed by the General Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Planning and Design of the Ministry of Water Resources and reported the technical review opinions to the Ministry of Water Resources. On November 11, it was approved by the Ministry of Water Resources.
